PARKER CHASE AND GINETTA HEAD TO SONOMA WITH MOMENTUM

After claiming a pair of podiums less than two weeks ago at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas, 16-year-old Parker Chase is set to travel to Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, California for the second time in as many years. Competing in the Grand Prix of Sonoma in the Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) GTS division, the Texan will look to steer his Performance Motorsports Group prepared Ginetta G55 to a race win around the twelve-turn, 2.385-mile road course in the heart of California’s Napa Valley and Wine Country.

“Ever since the Monday after the last event I have been itching to get back behind the wheel,” explained Chase. “I am excited to get back on track in Sonoma. With last year’s success there, I believe podiums and wins are possible and would be a great way to cap off the PWC season as we begin to plan for next year.”

In 2016, Chase attended the Sonoma Raceway round as a rookie in the PWC program and went on to score second and fourth place finishes en route to the 2016 Rookie of the Year Honors. Returning in 2017 with a year’s worth of knowledge, experience and a better understanding of his Ginetta G55, the talented Canyon High School student has his goals set high.

“These are the final two rounds of the PWC season and I want to finish them strong,” added Chase. “While we are still evaluating plans and options for the 2018 season, to close out the year with a win or two would be very satisfying.”

With on track action set to take place on Friday with two practice session, Saturday will be the home of qualifying in the morning and the first wheel-to-wheel competition with Round 17 in the afternoon. Sunday will be the Round 18, the final of the Pirelli World Challenge program for the 2017 season which will take place in front of packed grandstands and just before the Verizon IndyCar Series finale. A huge thank you to Ginetta Racecars for a fast and reliable car and the Pirelli World Challenge for providing a professional series. Parker Chase would also like to thank Protein Water by ProBalance and New Braunfels Convention and Visitors Bureau as well as Enertech Resources.
